| I suppose that the common wish of the majority of young creators (aspirants) is to meet the teacher (the master), who helps them find the way and the aim in their pursuit of their own self-realization (initiation), the master, who leads you to the verge where you face your own self, is the gift of God. Last September the group of the young designers-pursuers/aspirants, of various cultural backgrounds, nationalities and attitudes, found the common point in facing the magician of the graphic design, Mr. David Carson. In the beginning the variety of expectations, and the dominant curiosity about what might have been hidden in the master’s pocket spread discomfort over the young faces. Slowly, unobtrusively, Carson was setting deceptively simple assignments which, once accomplished, revealed gradually the subtle souls. Together with the creators he precisely and with a sense of humour analyzed the works and moved the boundaries far into the interior of the intimate-personal. He carefully shelled the conscious from the unconscious, the intuitive from the rational, the creative from the cliche. One layer after the other. The creators were becoming more relaxed, friendly, creative and energetically fulfilled in a secretive way, as if their own - recognized coded symbols opened their chakras. They flooded the room with a wild energy, which left none of the visitors indifferent... I had the silent role of recording that creative process behind/by the camera. I filmed a documentary.
